Baptism
In the Episcopal tradition, a person may be baptized at any age. Parents who bring their children to be baptized make an additional commitment to raise these children in the Christian faith.
If someone in your family desires baptism, we would love to make that happen. Please call the office at 254-634-7474 for more information.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a sacramental rite in which those who have been duly prepared make a public affirmation of their faith and a commitment to the responsibilities of Baptism and receive the laying on of hands by the Bishop. Confirmation is appropriate for anyone who has been baptized and matured in their faith and who has not been confirmed before. Please call the office at 254-634-7474 for more information.
Reconciliation
Those who repent may confess their sins to God in the presence of a priest and receive the assurance of pardon and the grace of absolution. It is also called penance and confession. It is said that all may, some should, none must participate in this rite. Please call the office at 254-634-7474 for more information.
Marriage
The rite of the church in which two persons “enter into a life-long union, make their vows before God and the Church, and receive the grace and blessing of God to help them fulfill their vows” (BCP 861). If you are looking to get married, St. Christopher’s would love to help. Please call the office at 254-634-7474 for more information.
Anointing of the Sick
Sometimes called unction, it is the anointing of those who are sick or dying with holy oil. Please call the office at 254-634-7474 for more information.
Burial
A funeral rite for those who have died. The BCP provides multiple liturgies where communion is optional. This service is a reminder that Jesus has defeated death with his resurrection, and our hope of everlasting life is in Christ. Please call the office at 254-634-7474 for more information.
